Better Cycles Begin Here

Jen, Women's Health Educator
So, why talk about periods? It's simple--most of us dread "that time of the month" and take over-the-counter medication to knock out the pain, sadly with little to no relief. What no one tells us is that painful periods are not normal. Through education, tips, and sharing things I've learned along my health journey, I help women like you understand why their cramps are so painful and share actionable tips on how they can lessen the pain, learn to appreciate the power of their period, and mange symptoms naturally. I think it's important to educate young women about the underlying causes of painful cycles, especially in their peak reproductive years.

Menstruation is part of every woman's life. If you're going to live with it, you might as well be equipped to manage your symptoms and minimize the pain and live a more vibrant and pain-free life.

My Story:

I wasn’t always health-obsessed, but that all changed about four years ago. Growing up, I’d always had extremely painful periods, and medications didn’t do much to lessen the debilitating cramps, nausea, and full-body pain I’d experience. After several visits to my doctor and gynecologist, doing extensive research on my own, experiencing lots of trial and error, I found out that the root cause of my symptoms was hormonal imbalances. I knew that my unhealthy lifestyle habits had been a huge contributor and I decided to completely change my life around.

After creating a habit of tracking my food in a journal, I was able to adjust my dietary habits, learned to eat intuitively. Within a few months, my symptoms were reversed and about 6 months into my journey, I experienced my first ever easy period.

If you’re someone who suffers from unbearable period pain and PMS, I want to inspire you to look at your nutrition and lifestyle habits. You learn a lot about your body just by paying attention to the symptoms it shows you and taking action.

So Healthy of Me is a space where you can find plant-centered meal ideas that focus on reducing chronic inflammation in the body, women’s health resources, and holistic practices to help reduce and even eliminate painful period symptoms. If you think period pain is normal, I’m here to tell you it’s NOT and I’ll show you how to live in alignment with your cycle, starting with nutrition. I’m so excited you’re on this journey with me.
